WWT's Programs

Employer Engagement Program

Many refugees who have resettled in the United States often prioritize immediate employment over the pursuit of English language proficiency, which can lead to limitations in their job options. This can be true even for those newcomers with advanced professional and educational backgrounds due to their limited English language skills.

This program aims to tackle this obstacle that hinders the equitable career choices of resettled refugees. Its objective is to actively engage and invest employers in the professional development of their refugee employees. WWT's program will establish collaborative networks of employers and community organizations dedicated to creating job-specific training programs that improve the English language proficiency and vocational skills of eligible refugee employees.

By fostering more active employer engagement in the integration of newcomers, this program will not only contribute to workforce stability but also ensure that employers have a skilled and dedicated workforce to meet their company's needs. Program participants will benefit from focused learning in a supportive and convenient environment, as well as opportunities for career advancement and social interaction.
